Alix Winter is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar working on INCITE’s Understanding Autism project. She received her PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University, where she was a fellow in the Harvard Kennedy School’s Multidisciplinary Program in Inequality and Social Policy. Alix studies how institutions and neighborhoods shape social inequalities, focusing, in particular, on the criminal justice system and the social determinants of health. Prior and ongoing projects examine these processes in relation to the criminal courts, the social patterning of lead exposure and its consequences, and opioid prescription rates.
