Jorrit's research and teaching focus on the challenges of making the public sector more effective, efficient, equitable, and responsive to social needs. Jorrit is Faculty Co-Chair of the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, a joint program of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, funded by and executed in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. It is the world’s most comprehensive effort to advance effective problem-solving and innovation through executive education, research, curriculum development, and fieldwork in cities.
Daniel D’Oca is an urban planner and Chair of the Center's Faculty Committee. He is Principal and co-founder of the New York City-based architecture, planning, and research firm Interboro Partners, and Design Critic in Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Karen Dynan is a Professor of the Practice in the Harvard University Department of Economics and at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is also a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and the chair of the American Economic Association Committee on Economic Statistics. She previously served as Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy and Chief Economist at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2014 to 2017.
Jenny French is a founding partner of French 2D, an architecture studio based in Boston, in 2008. The firm’s work addresses the intersection of architecture, storytelling, and society, examples of which can be found in many built and experimental projects. Recent and current projects include a 180-unit microhousing building in Boston, a Cohousing community in greater Boston, and large scale graphic work.
Ali Malkawi is Director of the Doctor of Design Studies Program and Professor of Architectural Technology at the GSD. Malkawi is an international scholar and expert in building simulation, energy conservation, and sustainability in buildings. He teaches architectural technology and computation and conducts research in the areas of computational simulation, building performance evaluation, and design decision support.
Rahul Mehrotra is Professor of Urban Design and Planning at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He is a practicing architect, urban designer, and educator.
Farshid Moussavi is principal of Farshid Moussavi Architecture (FMA) and professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She was previously co-founder of Foreign Office Architects until 2011. Her work integrates architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture in a wide range of projects internationally.
Rachel Weber is an urban planner, political economist, and economic geographer who researches the relationship between finance and the built environment. She explores the ways in which cities’ deepening relationships with financial markets have brought about changes in the ways they budget, fund infrastructure, and manage their assets.
Sara Zewde is founding principal of Studio Zewde, a design firm practicing landscape architecture, urbanism, and public art. Recent and ongoing projects of the firm include the Dia Beacon Art Museum landscape in Beacon, NY; the Watts Towers Arts Center landscape in Watts, Los Angeles, CA; Cuyahoga Valley National Park in OH; and the Studio Museum in Harlem, NY.
