Addendum to Research Note N07-1: Re-Benchmarking the Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity

This addendum to Research Note N07-1 provides an explanation of new changes to the benchmarked data series for the Joint Center for Housing Studies’ Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA).1 These changes were necessitated by the recent discontinuation of the U.S. Census Bureau’s Survey of Residential Alteration and Repairs and consequently the Bureau’s publication of the quarterly Residential Improvements and Repairs Statistics (C-50).
